Weekly Report #14

This week had consisted of narrowing down those that had been interviewed thus far into one person that could be asked to be my mentor. This process involved going back and analyzing how past interviews had went, as well as noting their interest and potential commitment to the mentorship that is necessary in ISM. Eventually, the decision had been narrowed down to Dr. Mitchell Dunn, the very first interview. The reason that I had believed he would be a good choice was because a large amount of new information was learned from the interview that was conducted with him and his experiences in the field thus far had been most interesting to hear about as well. With this in mind, the only thing I was concerned about was knowing how to bring up this discussion, and after a conference with Mr. Speice, the ISM teacher, I was ready to ask him.
Other than that, my other main endeavour was to really crack down on the original work, and getting the research portion over with. As this next week comes, this still remains to be the goal. The goal is to continue to work an hour everyday. This had been especially difficult last week due to the course load from other classes, therefore resulting in time being put off to later into the night. The plan to avoid this the following week is by doing one hour of original work as the first priority once I get home and dedicate that same amount of time during class now that less time can be spent worrying about acquiring interviews.
