Weekly Report 5

Although there had been a one week break from the weekly reports, this week was still busy spent beginning to create a website to serve as a digital portfolio, learning how to give a proper and professional handshake, and receiving feedback on our resumes. In regards to the resume, I was glad to receive feedback from some of my classmates on details that would have definitely been missed otherwise. One of these was how incompatible the the colors on the resume had looked together. Looking back on it, the two choices of color looked unusual, and so it was decided to change the saturation so they seem more toned down. The purple has now edged towards a light lavender and the forest green has been switched to a blue-green.

This week, the plan is to continue working on the assessment, hopefully finishing it sometime in the middle of the week so there is no work load on Friday. Therefore, I can continue being on top of the work. Also, the aim is to finish practicing my handshake with ten people. There had originally been much nervousness in undertaking this task, because it was something I couldn’t imagine doing without ending incredibly awkwardly. However, over the weekend, when shaking hands with a waitress and thanking her for serving us, it felt very rewarding as she had seemed slightly taken aback, yet impressed. This interaction has definitely instilled more confidence and the hope is for this confidence to remain going forward.
